Sunwest Spotlight: Sara Burgos

A proud mom and avid football fan, Sara Burgos amassed decades of experience as a journalist before becoming a PR professional. Fellow Sunwesters and clients alike appreciate Sara’s extensive experience and willingness to always lend a helping hand. When she’s not with her family or cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, you’ll find her serving our clients with excellence.

What does a day in your life look like?
I’m a get-the-day-started-early person, so I am usually the first to arrive in the office. During the day, I write press releases, pitch media, discuss clients with my team, and there is usually a client meeting or two thrown in as a bonus. I leave the office a little early to pick up my daughter from after-care at school and head home for dinner with my daughter and husband, homework, and whatever extracurricular activity my daughter has lined up for the evening.

What three traits define you?
I’m a sharp editor, I pay attention to details, and I like taking care of people.

What motivates you?
My family. Also, looking back at a completed project and knowing our team has done a great job.

If you could choose any mentor, who would it be and why?
My high school journalism teacher. She taught me many lessons that have served me well in my work life, but also important things about being a kind person.

When you’re not working in your office, is there a favorite place you like to work?
I like to work from my desk in the kitchen. I love to watch the birds and squirrels outside my window while I check things off my to-do list.
