Mary Shiroma

Senior Counsel

Until its merger with Sunwest Communications, from 1981-2021 Mary Shiroma was founder and president of Addison-based Shiroma Southwest, a public relations agency specializing in high visibility media exposure for municipalities, large-scale public events, restaurants, shopping centers, retail, hospitality, real estate development and museums as well as clients in the technology and financial services categories.

Prior to founding the agency, Mary served as Internal Communications Manager at Blue Cross of Wisconsin, Public Relations Director at the University of Dallas, and was an associate at a business-to-business public relations firm in Dallas. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Marquette University and an MBA in marketing and finance from The University of Dallas.

Long-active civically in Richardson, Texas, Mary is currently on the board of directors of Altrusa International of Richardson and a member of the Richardson Women’s Club.  Previously she served on the board of directors and executive committee of The Richardson Symphony and served on numerous committees with the Richardson Chamber of Commerce as well as the Metrocrest Chamber.
