Jenny King

Senior Counsel - Client Relations

Jenny has more than two decades working in leadership roles across client services, public affairs, marketing and advancement efforts for corporate and nonprofit organizations. In 2023, she launched Jenny King Strategies to guide clients in identifying and achieving strategic business marketing and community relations goals. In her role with Sunwest Communications, she serves as Senior Counsel for Client Relations, helping guide internal and external client growth and firm reputation.

Jenny is passionate about education at all levels, leadership development and mentoring and inclusive community action. She is a Trustee for her undergraduate alma mater, Austin College; District 10 appointee to the City of Dallas Community Police Oversight Board; volunteer for recent strategic budget committees for Richardson ISD; and board member of the Dallas Friday Group, Lake Highlands Women’s League, Lake Highlands Education Foundation and her homeowner’s association. She is past board president for Head Start of Greater Dallas, The Dallas Summit and the Austin College Alumni Association; an active sustainer in the Junior League of Dallas and a 2016 graduate of Leadership Dallas.

Jenny has been recognized for her professional and volunteer work, including receiving awards from Austin College (Heywood Clemons Volunteer Service Award and the Distinguished Alumni Award), Women’s Council of Dallas County, Dallas Day School and UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Jenny earned her B.A. in Political Science from Austin College and her Master of Public Affairs from UT Dallas. She and her husband, Chris Thompson, are the proud parents of Asher and Kate. Jenny loves to cook, and enjoys discussing current events and reading, especially mysteries, historical fiction and nonfiction policy books.
