Managing Director

Emily brings over 20 years of experience in public relations, crisis management and communications consulting to her role as Managing Director at Sunwest Communications. Her passion lies in teaching others the importance of strategic communication, which she does through a unique methodology, Spaeth Training, developed by strategic communications and crisis management expert Merrie Spaeth. Emily enjoys coaching clients who are eager to improve their presentation techniques and experiment with speech enhancements.

Over the years, she has coached executives and senior managers, who appreciate her positive, yet constructive feedback style. She is a speechwriter and often serves as a spokesperson for clients. Emily has acquired specialized experience in the construction and healthcare industries. She has worked in both public and private sectors, first as the state coordinator for a Florida public information program and later as a marketing coordinator for Deloitte in New York City.

Emily has a degree in media studies from Florida State University’s College of Communication. She and her husband, David, an actor and professor, live in Columbus, GA with their beloved teens and pets. She loves music, movies, podcasts, and everything pop-culture related.
