Darren Grubb

Senior Counsel

Darren Grubb is a strategic communications leader and speechwriter with experience across government, finance, media, health care and the nonprofit sector. He specializes in executive communications, leadership positioning and helping organizations navigate complex issues with clarity and confidence.

After moving to Dallas, Darren served as Senior Vice President of Communications and Marketing for the Dallas Regional Chamber, one of the nation’s largest business organizations. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Bloomberg LP in New York where he served as Chief of Staff for Communications and Government Relations and at Citigroup where he was Director of Executive Communications and lead speechwriter during the global financial crisis. He also spent six years in Washington, D.C. working in communications roles at The White House and serving as Deputy Chief of Staff to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce.

An accomplished and versatile writer, Darren has written for Fortune 100 CEOs, nonprofit leaders, political candidates, Cabinet secretaries, two U.S. presidents and international figures.

He is also the co-author of comedian Tom Dreesen’s bestselling memoir Still Standing: My Journey from Streets and Saloons to the Stage and Sinatra. Darren has served on the boards of SMU’s School of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, VisitDallas and Wings for Warriors.
