Sunwest Welcomes Nonprofit and Corporate Social Responsibility Leader Whitney Strauss

Global Strategic Public Relations/Public Affairs Firm Continues to Grow Corporate Citizenship, Philanthropy & Nonprofit Sector

DALLAS, Texas (June 21, 2019) – Building on its experience with the nonprofit community and in corporate social responsibility (CSR), Sunwest Communications welcomes a veteran in the philanthropic community, Whitney Strauss, as senior counsel.

Strauss brings extensive leadership experience to the Sunwest CSR team. Prior to joining Sunwest, her roles included AdvoCare Foundation executive director, March of Dimes Dallas division executive director, and Greenhill School director of alumni relations and major gifts. She also served as manager of community relations at Lockheed Martin, director of education at Dallas Regional Chamber, and special assistant to the secretary’s regional representative at U.S. Department of Education.  During this time, Strauss also consulted for several organizations, coalitions and special projects.

“I am very excited to join the Sunwest team and to continue working with nonprofits, private and family foundations and corporations,” said Strauss. “I’m passionate about social responsibility and I’m thrilled to bring my experience to this excellent group.”

In Strauss’ new role at Sunwest, she will work directly with the CSR division to expand the teams’ services including strategic planning, fund development planning and process management for nonprofit organizations, corporations and foundations.

Strauss graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Texas Christian University and a Master of Science in Public Service Management from DePaul University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate at Southern Methodist University. Additionally, Strauss is a published children’s book author of the series My Sweet Child Born in… She and her husband Robert have two sons, Bobby and Timmy.
