The Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant for Sunwest Communications will manage the invoicing (accounts receivable), accounts payable (expenses), budget and time tracking systems for the company, bank reconciliations, and financial statements.

  • Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial data analysis

 

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Accounts receivable – prepare monthly invoices through the month, monitor receivable balances and ensure prompt collections of outstanding accounts
  • Maintain client files (contract/agreements and contacts); send custom client agreements via DocuSign
  • Accounts payable – code and pay bills, maintain vendor files, and communicate with vendors; prepare annual 1099s
  • Cash management review
  • Prepare monthly reports for the team
  • Review expense reports
  • Monthly reconciliation for bank statements and corporate credit cards
  • Daily monitoring of bank activity
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Month-end closing reports and financial statements
  • Collect and maintain W9’s from vendors
  • Communicate and interface with outside CPA firm
  • Communicate and interface with outside payroll provider
  • Communicate and interface with outside IT firm

 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting or working from a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
