Whitney Strauss
Senior Counsel – CSR & Philanthropic Services
In her role at Sunwest, Whitney works directly with the nonprofit division team to expand services including strategic planning, fund development planning and process management focusing on civic projects, corporate social responsibility, foundations and nonprofit organizations.
Prior to Sunwest, Whitney has had an extensive background in nonprofit and corporate social responsibility leadership including roles at the AdvoCare Foundation, March of Dimes, Greenhill School, Lockheed Martin, Dallas Regional Chamber and U.S. Department of Education.
In addition, Whitney is also a published children’s book author of the series “My Sweet Child Born in….”
Whitney has been very active in the community throughout her adult life primarily focusing on advancing the women and children in need. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for TexProtects, The Concilio and Texas Ballet Theater. She and her family are also very involved with the North Texas Food Bank raising funds and awareness for the Food 4 Kids program and Stop Hunger Capital Campaign. She is also a sustainer member of the Junior League of Dallas and Leadership Dallas Alumni Association.
The Dallas Business Journal and the Dallas Furniture Bank have awarded Whitney the top 40 under 40. She was also awarded the Community Servant of the Year by HOBY North Texas.
Whitney graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Texas Christian University and a Master of Science in public service management from DePaul University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate at SMU. She is married to Robert Strauss and has two sons, Bobby and Timmy.
