RJ Moshay is 20+year communications, marketing, and philanthropy leader with successful tours of duty in Fortune 500, start-ups, non-profit and consulting environments.
RJ’s expertise is in helping organizations increase their share of wallet, brand reputation, and ROI through relationship building, strategic marketing, and communications, fundraising/sponsorship development, integrated traditional and digital communications, messaging strategy and crisis communications
RJ began his communications and marketing career in the telecom space with GTE (now Verizon Communications) that included international stints in the South America. He later moved to positions of increasing responsibility with Sprint Business and with local branches of United Way Worldwide where he served as the senior brand, marketing, and communications officer for offices in Dallas and North Carolina, respectively.
RJ’s leadership of the crisis communications response strategy for United Way of Metropolitan Dallas in the wake of Hurricane Katrina resulted in United Way Worldwide tapping him to adapt the Dallas playbook for use by local United Ways nationwide. These efforts helped United Way avert fundraising deficits and achieve year over year increases of 7% in Dallas and 4% nationwide.
Most recently, RJ has been a strategic communications adviser through his own brand consulting practice after leading the marketing, communications and CSR efforts for a NC-based rural telecom MSP/cloud-based computing startup that was successfully sold.
RJ has held various board and committee assignments with the arts and civic organizations including Texas Ballet Theater, Dallas Center for the Performing Arts Foundation Advisory Council, and the African American Museum of Dallas. He is an alumnus of both Leadership Dallas and Leadership Plano. NC affiliations include United Arts Council, Raleigh Rotary Club, and various church-related endeavors. RJ continues to serve on the Board of Trustees for Trinity School of Durham & Chapel Hill.
RJ graduated with a B.S. in Physics from Texas Southern University, and he holds an M.B.A. (Marketing Concentration) from the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
